Exclusion criteria
ZorgtVuldig is there for young adults and adults with complex support needs. Not every request fits what we can and may offer. Here you can read who our support is for, when we cannot offer responsible support and how we make sure nobody is left without help. Version 1.1, adopted on 8 July 2026. Phone number updated on 14 October 2026. This is a translation; the Dutch version is leading.
1. What ZorgtVuldig does offer

- Support under the Wmo, the Wlz, a PGB or a forensic framework

What ZorgtVuldig does not offer
- Youth care (under 18)
- Medical, psychiatric or addiction treatment
- Admission, closed settings or 24-hour care
- Crisis care and acute psychiatry
- Nursing and other reserved medical procedures
2. Who ZorgtVuldig is for
We support young adults and adults who have got stuck, or are at risk of getting stuck, in several areas of life. Often several things play a role at once: an autism or mild intellectual disability background, mental health problems, a forensic past, social isolation, a difficult home situation or difficulty organising daily life independently. Support can be funded under the Wmo, the Wlz, a PGB or a forensic framework and takes place at the client's home or an agreed place, in Friesland and the surrounding area.
ZorgtVuldig offers support, not treatment. We like to work with therapists but do not take over their role, unless otherwise agreed in writing and the required competence and qualifications are demonstrably in place.
3. Care other than support is needed
In some situations we cannot offer good and safe support. We use three groups of exclusion criteria. The first group:
- The request primarily calls for medical, psychiatric or addiction treatment. Support can only start or continue once that treatment is arranged elsewhere.
- An admission is needed, or care in a closed or clinical setting (for example under the Wvggz or the Wzd).
- 24-hour supervision, residential care or continuous proximity of care is needed. We work exclusively on an ambulatory basis.
- Nursing or other reserved medical procedures are needed.
- The request mainly stems from age-related care, such as advanced dementia.
- There is a severe intellectual disability for which ambulatory support is not sufficient.
Safety cannot be guaranteed
- There is an acute crisis, such as acute suicidality or acute psychosis, as long as stabilisation or treatment has not been arranged.
- There is seriously aggressive or abusive behaviour, making ambulatory work and home visits unsafe for the support worker.
The basis to start is missing
- The client is younger than 18. We do not provide youth care under the Youth Act.
- There is no suitable funding, indication or decision and it cannot be arranged.
- The client structurally will not or cannot cooperate with the support and the agreements that come with it.
- The request comes from outside our work area and a tailored solution is not possible.
Borderline cases exist, especially in our target group. When in doubt, we assess per situation whether responsible support is still possible, for example with extra agreements, cooperation with a therapist or an introductory period. We always substantiate such a decision and record it in the file.
4. Not a good fit? We think along
If a client does not qualify for support by ZorgtVuldig at registration, we explain why in understandable terms. With consent we also inform the person or organisation that made the referral. We then refer back in consultation, or actively help find a provider that can offer suitable care. Nobody is sent away without explanation or direction.
5. If the situation changes during support
Sometimes a situation changes during the trajectory, so that an exclusion criterion applies after all. We then reassess whether responsible support is possible and discuss this openly with the client and, where agreed, with the referrer or municipality. If support has to end, this never happens abruptly: we ensure a careful, warm handover to a suitable care provider so that care continues. We record the considerations and the handover in the file.
Not sure whether a request fits us? Feel free to call or email before registering: 06 2622 8214 or info@zorgtvuldig.nl. We are happy to think along, even if the outcome is that another provider is a better fit.
